Program Descriptions
The Willow room serves children aged 6 weeks to 2 years old. Children are enrolled in the Willow room for a complete school year or two, depending on their age at enrollment. Mid-year transitions are not made. Children remain with the same primary care takers at school during this stage of development. Young infants are on individual schedules based on their needs. Teachers follow the cues of young infants and work with families to meet the needs of young infants.
The Dogwood room serves children aged 6 weeks to 3 years old. Children are enrolled in the Dogwood room until on or around their 3rd birthday. At the time of turning 3, children transition to Preschool. Careful attention is paid to making this transition is successful for all individual children. The children in Dogwood room remain with he same primary care takers at school during their stage of development. Dogwood room provides children and college students with a model of early care often found in other high quality early childhood programs with a focus on meeting the needs of children at various ages and stages. The Maple room serves children 18 months to 3 years old. Children are enrolled in the Maple room for a complete school year or two, depending on their age at enrollment. Mid-year transitions are not made.
The Sassafras and Birch rooms serve children 3-5 years old. Children turning 3 prior to the end of December can be enrolled in the Sassafras or Birch room and begin school on the first day of the fall semester.

Schedule is based on the needs of the children, times are approximate
8:30-10:00 Drop off and transition to school, open playground or classroom centers (weather dependent) and snack
10:00-11:00 Teacher guided group experiences
11:00-12:00 Open playground or classroom centers (weather dependent) and lunch prep
12:00-12:30 Lunch
12:15-12:30 Half day transition
12:30-12:45 Lunch clean up, bathroom break, nap preparation
1:00-3:00 Nap/rest
1:30-3:30 quiet classroom experiences, bath break, snack
3:00 All children are awoken from nap
3:30-4:15 open playground or classroom centers (weather dependent)
4:15-4:30 group gathering and transition home
