Heather Mulrooney

Teacher

Infant Blue Room

Heather earned her B.A in Child Study and minored in Psychology at St. Joseph College in 1996. For over a decade Heather has worked as an Infant/Toddler teacher for an Early Head Start Program. Heather joined the UConn Child Labs as an Infant teacher in 2022.

Heather enjoys working with infants/young toddlers and finds it to be extremely rewarding and fulfilling. Working alongside them and seeing how much they grow and develop new skills every day is a humbling experience for Heather. She feels honored to be a part of shaping our future generation. In the classroom, Heather finds importance in providing an environment where children can form secure relationships with caring and responsive adults as well as feel safe and have the freedom to explore and learn. Heather is excited to be working at the child labs where her personal career goals can be achieved by mentoring and instructing college students. A goal of hers is to provide opportunity for students to become the best caregivers they can be and to value the importance of Early Childhood Education.

In her free time you can find Heather playing pool (billiards), watching UConn Women’s basketball, traveling to New Hampshire, going on adventures and creating as many memories as possible for her son.
