Preschool and Kindergarten Curriculum

The Preschool and Kindergarten programs integrate emotional, social, cognitive and physical development. These programs provide a setting that nurtures creative expression and encourages positive self-esteem and social interactions. Social values of cooperation, courtesy, mutual respect and empathy are supported, and children are encouraged to reflect these ideals in their actions toward self and others.

The curriculum reflects consideration of children in knowledge, skills, dispositions, and feelings. Teachers observe and document children's growth and learning in the areas of personal/social, language/literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific thinking, the arts, physical development, and social studies. This knowledge is used to plan environments and activities that support and facilitate each child's growth and development within a context that is meaningful and purposeful for young children.
