Barb Giardina

Barb has been teaching in the infant room since 2011 and was a parent in the Child Labs community in the late 90’s when her sons attended our program.  Barb has been working in Early Education for over twenty-five years both in New York and Connecticut. She received her Bachelor degree from Stony Brook University in Psychology with a minor in Child Care and Family Studies, and at Cortland College earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. Barb loves working with infants and young toddlers because she feels that this is the age where it all begins.  She enjoys creating a classroom that is welcoming, caring, safe, and respectful of all children. Barb loves helping children learn how to interact and be good friends to each other, and also loves working closely with the children’s families and sharing stories with them each day. Barb enjoys working with college students because of the perspective and insight they bring into the classroom.  She loves to watch their growth and development while supporting them as they learn about working with young children.  She is very excited to be able to share her experiences and love of teaching at the Child Labs.
